Meet Laura
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a member of IACP working towards full accreditation and I work within the ethical framework of the IACP. The code of ethics for IACP practitioners can be accessed on the IACP website.

What I Offer
I provide a safe, caring, non-judgemental space for clients to explore the challenges they are experiencing. I offer confidential, one-to-one therapy for adults for a range of issues including low self-esteem, recent or childhood trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, domestic and sexual abuse, illness and life transitions.
My wish for my clients is that they get to know their emotional world and live in a way that feels authentic and true. With this in mind, I listen empathically and work collaboratively with clients to help them to process emotions in a way that is nurturing and liberating for them. I believe deeply in the healing that comes from the experience of being listened to within a safe and therapeutic connection. Indeed, the best available research clearly demonstrates the healing quality of the therapy relationship.
My Approach
I am trained in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. Pluralism is an integrative approach to counselling that is philosophically rooted in the idea that there are many things which may be beneficial to someone in psychological distress. Each client is unique and may therefore need different things from therapy.
In order to meet the individual needs of my client, I draw upon a range of different therapeutic methods and understandings, including Person Centred Therapy, Reality Therapy (a form of CBT), as well as Transactional Analysis and Attachment Theory. I view my role as facilitating an exploration of the issues and creating space for the client to find their way through their difficulties to achieve the life they want to live.
Address
Located in Strandhill village, my therapy room is in a private and tranquil space with parking outside.
Fees
Each psychotherapy session lasts one hour and costs €65. Therapy usually takes place weekly and can be on a short term or longer term basis, depending on the needs of the client.
